Job Description:
|
|
• Conduct a transmission line route survey on the field
• Operate Total station, Global positioning system
(GPS), Differential Geographical Positioning System (DGPS),
etc.
• Conduct route profiling
• Read and interpret geographical drawings
• Prepare a line drawing of the proposed line path with survey data
• Identify and mark the tower location, pit marking, angle
bisection, etc.
• Measure grid level for contouring and prepare a
diagonal profile for benign, unequal leg
extension, raised chimney, etc.
• Identify alternate routes to the tower location and
suggest the best route as per requirements
• Ensure compliance with statutory clearances such as
sag, ground clearances, right of way, etc.
while spotting the tower location
• Prepare the final survey report

| Skills: |
• Operation of GIS (Geographic Information System)
technology and related terminology
• GIS software and survey equipment
• Elements of geological/topographical sheet/drawing
• Basic computer applications
• Common electricity terminology and correct interpretation
of the same terminology (e.g., current, voltage, resistance,
kilowatt (kW), kilowatt hour (kWh))
• Importance of reporting problems of survey promptly
• Technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, diagrams, plans
